OroraTech is a NewSpace intelligence startup enhancing climate resilience through advanced monitoring services. Its flagship Wildfire Detection and Monitoring Service protects over 170 million hectares of forest worldwide, supported by OroraTechโ€™s own nanosatellite fleet. The first satellite, FOREST-1, launched in early 2022, and the company aims to expand to 100 nanosatellites by 2027. Equipped with innovative thermal-infrared cameras, these satellites reduce wildfire detection and alert times from hours to minutes.

Pina Earth โ€“ Unlocking carbon markets for European forest owners. Pina Earth is building a suite of digital tools for data collection, monitoring, and certification of forest carbon projects. EU forests are at high risk due to climate change. With Pina Earth, forest owners can start high-quality carbon projects on their properties and use the new income stream to prepare their forests for a changing climate. The founders met at the Center for Digital Technology and Management (CDTM) and joined their expertise in sustainability science, software engineering, and machine learning to make EU forests future-proof.

eGaIT, by Portabiles HealthCare Technologies GmbH (to be founded), is a wearable sensor system that analyzes gait. Patients suffering from chronic diseases with gait impairments can wear the sensors wherever they go at any time. eGaIT consists of sensors that are attached to the side of both shoes with a clip; the sensor data are transferred wirelessly to a data hub. Gait parameters are calculated and displayed to a physician on a tablet-PC or by using a telehealth platform.
