TerraLoupe wins 1st place of 2015 Munich business plan competition

The success story for the Bavarian big data start-up TerraLoupe continues. On fist June, the company started it's incubation phase at ESA BIC Bavaria. After winning the second phase of the Munich Business Plan Competition and an invitation to an exclusive delegation to Israel of the Bavarian Ministry of Economics, TerraLoupe now was announced as the best Startup of Munich and South Bavaria on Tuesday evening in the finale of the Munich Businessplan Competition 2015. More than 390 teams had participated in the Bavarian business plan competition. The prize was awarded by Bavarian state secretary Franz Josef Pschierer on 28 July.

TerraLoupe offers virtual-reality imagery solutions based on geo-specific 3D information bundled with object recognition analytics and reports based on machine-learning algorithms. Their abilities cover 3D virtual reality solutions based on very precise remote sensing imagery of large areas in cm-accuracy. Objects such as buildings, trees, and even curbs are recognized and classified by intelligent algorithms and adapted to customer needs. TerraLoupe's big data and computer vision technology offers application in a great variety of industries. Customers include international reinsurance and direct insurance companies as well as manufacturers and suppliers in the automotive sector. Furthermore, the technology has great potential for a wide variety of commercial use in areas such as augmented reality applications, gaming, construction industry, cities and municipalities, tourism, energy, transport infrastructure and many more.

ESA BIC Bavaria is supporting TerraLoupe to further develop its technology. In addition to a financial grant, the startup especially benefits from technical assistance by the German Aerospace Center and from the international network of Anwendungszentrum GmbH Oberpfaffenhofen.
