TerraLoupe Office-Opening Party in Munich City Centre

The IT startup TerraLoupe is now also represented in the centre of Munich, in West-Schwabing. Recently they celebrated their new branch office in the heart of Munich with an office-opening party. A football table and VR computer games were special features at the party.

The team of TerraLoupe specialised in analysing airborne images of large-scale areas by means of artificial intelligence, consisting of five employees and one intern. "It was not easy to find a good possibility for an office expansion in the centre of Munich. We had the claim to have an office which is convenient and quickly to reach. It had to be a place where we can offer sufficient room for our customers, employees and working students. Now we are overjoyed that we have found an ideal location for us", stated the founders of TerraLoupe.

TerraLoupe GmbH - Automatic Generation & Recognition of Geospecific 3D Information
TerraLoupe specialises in geo-informatics and machine learning. In combining current research with real business applications, they are unlocking detailed insight through unbounded analytics "via deep learning" of precise geo imagery. This offers unique and customised solutions for industry specific needs. The startup provides its customers with high-resolution airborne image acquisition and object recognition for geo-specific 3D information.

TerraLoupe's intelligent algorithms classify image content, using techniques adapted to the customer's needs. Basically, it acquires geo-images, writes code, and trains object-recognition algorithms to find the small pieces of relevance in big data. By combining high-resolution geo-data with image analytics, the company can supply its customers with internal views and valuable reports.

TerraLoupe is part of the ESA BIC Bavaria incubation programme from June 2015 to May 2017.

ESA Business Incubation Centre Bavaria
The ESA BIC Bavaria seeks entrepreneurs using space technologies in a non-space environment. That does not mean rocket science, but applies to multiple application fields such as navigation and positioning, communications techniques, Earth observation, materials, processes, signals or robotics.

ESA's Business Incubation Centre Bavaria was launched in 2009 and is since managed by Anwendungszentrum GmbH Oberpfaffenhofen (AZO). ESA BIC Bavaria and its renowned partners - DLR, Airbus Defence and Space, Fraunhofer IIS and Wirtschaftsförderungsgesellschaft Berchtesgadener Land - provide startups with financial and technical support at four branch offices: Oberpfaffenhofen, Ottobrunn, Nürnberg and Berchtesgadener Land.

ESA BIC Bavaria has four selection rounds each year. The next application deadline for the incubation programme is 29 August 2016. Apply now for ESA BIC Bavaria
